Seaside Daisy started as a name.
For years, I knew I wanted to create something called Seaside Daisy. I didn't know exactly what it would be or where it would lead—I just knew the name belonged to something I hadn't created yet.
Eventually, I started making things. I designed, sublimated, experimented and created different handmade products, using the skills I'd built over the years in design, technology and digital media. Seaside Daisy began taking shape, but it still hadn't quite found its direction.
Then I fell in love with skincare.
What began with making products for myself turned into months of research, formulation and experimentation. I became fascinated by botanical oils, butters, hydrosols, extracts and the ingredients that give a formula its texture, stability and feel on the skin. I wanted to understand not only what went into a product, but why it was there.
And somewhere along the way, Seaside Daisy finally became what I had always felt it was supposed to be.
I don't begin a Seaside Daisy line with a bottle.
I begin with a picture in my head.
A misty forest. The first golden light over the coast. Clear blue-green water surrounded by evergreens. A dark Pacific storm rolling in at night. A quiet shoreline scattered with shells.
Each of the six lines in this first collection began that way—as a feeling, a place and a color palette. From there, I researched ingredients, developed formulas, created scent profiles, designed labels and packaging, photographed and illustrated the ingredients, and built the visual world surrounding each one.
The vision became the formula. The formula became the product. And eventually, all six became Seaside Daisy.
One of my goals from the beginning has been to create products thoughtfully—not only in what goes inside them, but in how they're delivered.
That's one reason I chose glass bottles. They're simple, beautiful, affordable and, most importantly, something worth keeping and reusing rather than immediately throwing away.
As Seaside Daisy grows, I want that idea to grow with it. My plans include biodegradable refill pouches so a bottle can be filled again instead of replaced, along with decorative reusable bottles designed to become something you want to keep.
There is still a lot to explore, and I don't pretend to know exactly what every future version of Seaside Daisy will look like. But reducing unnecessary waste and finding better ways to package and refill our products will continue to be part of how I build the brand.
Today, Seaside Daisy is botanical body care and handmade goods, created and designed by me from beginning to end.
But I never wanted it to be limited to one kind of product. There are already new ideas taking shape, new things I want to make, and new directions I want to explore.
This first collection is exactly that—the first.
I still don't know everywhere Seaside Daisy is going.
Funny enough, that's how it started too.
I just knew it was going somewhere.
