COASTAL RAIN
Where it began...
Coastal Rain began with a problem I know very well: living in the high desert is incredibly hard on my skin. The air here is dry almost all the time, and it can feel like whatever moisture you put on your skin just disappears. I wanted to create something intensely hydrating, but I didn't want something heavy. I wanted that fresh, comfortable feeling of skin that has actually had a really good drink of water.
That search started with hyaluronic acid. I knew about it from facial skincare, but once I started researching it, I became fascinated with hydration in general—especially ingredients that attract water, hold onto it, or help dry skin feel softer and more comfortable. That led me to tremella mushroom, then aloe vera, gotu kola, marshmallow root, coconut water and other ingredients that slowly began to shape Coastal Rain.
And just like the other lines, I could see Coastal Rain in my head before it was finished. I pictured the Pacific Northwest coast on one of those gray, rainy days when everything is completely saturated. Rain falling through the evergreens, mist hanging over the cliffs, wet sand reflecting the sky and water everywhere. Living in the desert, there is something almost luxurious to me about that much moisture.
That's really what I wanted Coastal Rain to capture. Not just moisturizing the skin, but that feeling of replenishment—like rain finally reaching something that's been dry for too long.
What started as me trying to solve my own dry-skin problem became an entire line built around water and hydration, inspired by that incredible feeling of everything becoming fresh and replenished after the rain.
