MOSS WATER
Where it began...
Moss Water began because I was trying to replace something I genuinely missed. For years, I used a hemp-based lotion that worked beautifully for my skin. When it was discontinued, I tried to find something comparable and couldn't. Eventually I thought, Okay. Maybe I can make it myself.
I started with hemp seed oil and then began researching what else I wanted around it. That led me to meadowfoam, camellia, green tea, rosemary and other botanicals that could give me the nourishing, comfortable feel I wanted without creating a lotion that felt heavy.
As the line began to take shape, I knew exactly what Moss Water looked like in my head: the Pacific Northwest after the rain. Deep green moss covering the rocks, cool water, wet earth and that incredible clean forest air. What began as an attempt to recreate something I missed slowly became something entirely my own.
Moss Water is still one of the most personal lines I've created for Seaside Daisy. It started with something I needed for myself, and somewhere along the way, it helped inspire an entirely new direction for the brand.
The Line
Moss Water is built around hemp seed oil and the rich botanical character that inspired the entire family. The Botanical Body Lotion combines hemp with carefully selected oils and botanical ingredients to create the deeply moisturizing but comfortable, quick-absorbing feel I was originally searching for.
The line's companion Botanical Body Oil takes that same Moss Water philosophy and puts the oils themselves at center stage. It's a simple way to add another layer of conditioning moisture whenever your skin needs it—used on its own or paired with the lotion.
